Position Summary:
The Production Shift Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of plant operations during the varied hours and weekend operations of a 24 x 7 manufacturing facility (12-hour schedule with rotating days off | The rotating shifts are: 6pm to 6am, 2pm to 2am and 9pm to 9am). The Production Shift Supervisor actively manages both people and processes to ensure safety, quality, overall equipment effectiveness, and operator productivity. This position communicates issues to Department Managers, Plant Manager, HR Manager, and Team Leaders as applicable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations and adhere to SOPs and company practices/guidelines.
  • Direct and coordinate the activities of associates engaged in all areas (departments) of the manufacturing plant (up to 30 associates).
  • Communicate clearly, concisely, and consistently with Team Leads, Production Supervisors, and Managers.
  • Plan and establish work assignments and production sequences to meet production goals.
  • Ensure all operations run consistently to standard with a focus on high quality and high capacity.
  • Monitor associate performance and provide feedback, coaching, and training.
  • Coach and consistently apply associate relations policies.
  • Oversee training of production personnel to perform work assignments safely and efficiently.
  • Utilize automated timekeeping and HR systems for accurate accounting of work hours.
  • Review and approve vacations, time off, and disciplinary actions; ensure timely communication to payroll.
  • Prepare and conduct performance evaluations and issue disciplinary actions.
  • Coordinate maintenance activities on manufacturing equipment and/or process improvement initiatives.
  • Consistently enforce company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • A.S. or B.S. degree in a related field is highly preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience; supervisory/management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience in developing, implementing, and documenting procedures.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Experience with WMS systems such as AS400 and SAP is preferred.
