Job Description:

This role has responsibility for leading the Space and Mission Systems (SMS) Segment Estimate-at-Complete (EAC) /Profitability Assessment process and consolidation in addition to supporting contract analysis and documentation related to revenue recognition, leases and other technical accounting topics. The ideal candidate for this role has strong accounting experience, specifically in its application to government contracts and commercial contracts, and strong communication and analytical skills.

Essential Functions:

  • Identify Watch Programs in compliance with company policy and leadership direction
  • Prepare and distribute EAC selections each quarter
  • Monitor Profitability Assessment Module (PAM) for accurate reporting by divisions
  • Monitor EAC Qualitative Assessments and Profitability Assessments
  • Own and update EAC template and Alteryx workflow for creation of division templates
  • Monitor and analyze division quarterly submissions of EAC profit change reporting
  • Consolidate EAC profit change reporting for the segment each quarterand lead the optimization and automation of segment-wide reporting workflows to support digital transformation initiatives.
  • Support internal and external audit of revenue recognition and other technical accounting matters
  • Conduct ad hoc accounting technical research as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in Accounting, Business Administration, or Finance) and minimum 9 years of prior relevant experience, or Graduate Degree and a minimum of 7 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 13 years of prior related experience.
  • Project Management experience
  • Microsoft Excel experience


Preferred Additional Skills:

  • CPA with active license
  • Defense Contractor experience in program finance or accounting
  • Experience with Hyperion Financial Management (HFM)
  • Experience in quarterly and annual close process in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines
  • Experience with contract accounting and use of contracts module in SAP, PeopleSoft or Cost Point
  • Experience with Alteryx
