What is an account success manager?

An Account Success Manager is a professional responsible for ensuring that clients achieve their desired outcomes while using a company's products or services. They work closely with customers to understand their needs, provide solutions, and help them realize value from the company's offerings. Their role often includes onboarding, training, ongoing support, and serving as the main point of contact for client concerns. By fostering strong relationships, Account Success Managers help improve customer satisfaction and retention. They may also identify opportunities for account growth and upselling.

How does an account success manager typically collaborate with other teams to ensure client satisfaction?

Account Success Managers work closely with cross-functional teams such as sales, product, and customer support to address client needs and ensure ongoing satisfaction. They often serve as the main point of contact for clients, relaying feedback and coordinating solutions internally. This collaborative approach helps maintain strong client relationships and drives overall business success.

Exceptional communication, empathy, and proactive organizational skills help set top performers apart in this role. These competencies are crucial for building trust, ensuring client satisfaction, and driving long-term account growth.

At ClickDimensions, Customer Success sits at the heart of how we help customers grow with confidence - the connective tissue between our customers, our product, and the rest of the business. We believe healthy customers are growing customers, and getting there means understanding what success looks like for each customer, building trusted relationships across their organization, and partnering closely across Sales, Onboarding, Product, Support, and the Renewals team to advocate for what customers need.
What We Are Looking For
We're looking for someone with a couple of years of customer-facing experience who's ready to challenge themselves and keen to keep learning. You're still early in your Customer Success journey, comfortable operating in a fast-moving environment, and curious about using AI and automation to work smarter and deliver value faster.

  • Define and agree upon success criteria with the customer, and map the customer's journey toward them

  • Proactively monitor client accounts based on their defined success plans, tracking product adoption, feature usage, and health score trends, and provide guidance/advice based on marketing best practices as needed

  • Deliver training, enablement, and support escalation coordination to drive adoption and reduce time-to-value

  • Identify at-risk accounts from a product/usage standpoint and own resolution of that risk; flag commercial risk to the Renewals/Account Management team promptly

  • Partner with the Renewals team throughout the customer lifecycle - sharing health and adoption insight ahead of renewal, surfacing cross-sell opportunities (without owning deal-closing), and participating in joint account planning

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to ClickDimensions clients on product usage and marketing outcomes

  • Serve as the voice of the customer internally - sharing insights that help shape Product priorities and long-term roadmap - and identify advocacy and reference opportunities

  • Use existing systems, data, and emerging technologies - including AI - to spot trends, anomalies, and opportunities to enhance customer value
