Role Summary and Impact
The Associate Director is responsible for developing and leading innovative, cost-effective communication strategies that align with client objectives and ensure account profitability. This role combines strategic vision with operational leadership, fostering collaboration across teams, mentoring Account Managers and Executives, and building strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners to deliver exceptional results.
Strategic Leadership and Planning
  • Drive innovative and cost-effective communication strategies to meet client objectives.
  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all aspects of clients' business, brands, and marketplace.
  • Actively seek creative and innovative media solutions to enhance client campaigns.
  • Apply Navigator processes and tools to deliver effective communication strategies.

Client Relationship Management
  • Develop strong relationships at the appropriate level with key media owners, creative agencies, and other specialist partners.
  • Ensure all client requirements are met and surpassed, maintaining a proactive and enterprising approach to client dealings.
  • Lead clients' understanding of communication planning and implementation while fostering collaboration across teams (Digital, Sponsorship, etc.).
  • Promote WPP Media's vision and ambitions to clients and suppliers.

Team Leadership and Development
  • Ensure high morale and motivation across the team by providing guidance and support.
  • Communicate team and individual objectives effectively and prioritize workloads for optimal efficiency.

Operational Excellence
  • Manage billing income and ensure the profitability of accounts.
  • Obtain maximum value for clients' budgets through strategic media negotiations and added value.
  • Maintain a detailed knowledge of relevant media developments and ensure the team applies these insights effectively.

Business Development
  • Participate in internal projects and contribute to new business pitches.
  • Drive the adoption of tools and processes among clients and within teams.
  • Actively identify opportunities for growth within client portfolios and develop strategies to capitalize on them.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Media, Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Advanced certifications in areas such as Strategic Planning, Media Analytics, or Business Management are a plus.

Experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in media planning or marketing strategy, including at least 1 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing large client portfolios and leading high-performing teams.
  • Demonstrated success in developing and executing strategic communication plans.
  • Experience working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders, including creative agencies, media vendors, and cross-functional teams.

Additional Knowledge
  • Extensive knowledge of media tools and techniques, including research, evaluation, and negotiation.
  • Deep understanding of communication channels, media buying, and budget control to optimize client profitability.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to evaluate key trends and deliver actionable insights.
  • Proficient in financial management, including budgeting and profitability analysis.
  • Expertise in workflow management, including prioritization and delegation to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) and media planning tools (offline and online).
  • Strong knowledge of digital platforms and tools, including Meta Ads Manager and Google Ads.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong presentational abilities to engage clients and stakeholders effectively.
  • Strong communication skills in both Spanish and English, with advanced proficiency required for professional interactions.
