How You’ll Make an Impact

The Deposit and EFT Operations Associate supports day-to-day deposit, Real Time Payments, and EFT activity, including ACH and wires. The role also supports process improvement, operations projects, and the design and maintenance of policies and procedures. This position will maintain subject matter expertise in the Deposit and EFT (electronic funds transfer) programs. 

The ideal candidate must be competent and able to learn quickly, be highly detail oriented, and be comfortable working with many different systems. The successful candidate will have worked in a financial institution setting, primarily in back-office transaction processing. 

This person will also possess strong analytical skills to not only document, but to evaluate and recommend changes to processes, workflows, and procedures to drive productivity and efficiency. Additionally, familiarity with AI-powered automation tools and process optimization technologies is highly valued. The role offers opportunities to leverage emerging technologies such as robotic process automation (RPA) and AI-assisted decision support systems to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.

What You’ll Be Doing 

  1. Performs assigned processes which include but are not limited to manual and batch posting of transactions, member account and share maintenance, member communication, and researching and resolving exceptions within set parameters, primarily around the deposit and EFT programs, and dispute processing.
  2. Accountable for assigned processes and accurately completing these functions, within expected time frames, and within acceptable service level standards set by Management. 
  3. Monitors activity, tracks transactions, and validates data using reports and logs. Escalates issues appropriately. 
  4. Identifies process improvements to streamline operations while maintaining adequate controls across the organization including opportunities to implement robotic process automation (RPA) and AI-assisted workflows to streamline repetitive tasks and reduce manual processing time. 
  5. Provides support and assists other business units with internal and external member requests.  
  6. Has broad operational knowledge on various processes to serve as a departmental backup. This role serves as a backup Office Administrator which includes fulfillment operations, office management, mail processing, document imaging, offers notary services, maintains office supplies and handles facilities-related requests.  Provides internal notary services. 
  7. Leads creation and updates to assigned policies and procedures and assists in maintaining appropriate sections of related policies and procedures Reviews and updates procedures timely and provides policy recommendations for accuracy, efficiency and regulatory compliance.  
  8. Interacts with members across all channels, including in person if required. Also, liaisons with related vendors and/or third parties on behalf of the member and/or Credit Union, as appropriate. Supports projects to update, implement, and test systems. 
  9. Promotes and maintains a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner consistent with professional standards to get along with members, co-workers, management and vendors. 
  10. Keeps abreast of industry developments including, but not limited to, changes in regulations, technology, etc. 
  11. Ensures adherence to company policies and procedures and Banking/Credit Union Regulations. 
  12. Performs additional duties as required. 

What You Bring to the Team  

The Deposit and EFT Operations Associate works under minimal supervision following established guidelines and procedures exercising some independent judgment.  This person must be action-oriented, self-motivated and creative while being highly functional.   

  • Bachelor’s Degree or minimum of two to four years of back-office transaction and dispute processing experience. Credit Union or banking related experience a requirement.   
  • Must be a Notary or become a Notary within 60 days of hire. 
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted decision support systems and their application in financial operations preferred.  Ability to identify automation opportunities and develop business cases for AI assisted implementation. 
  • Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of rules and regulations governing transactional processing procedures within a financial institution. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.  Must be able to multi-task.  
  • Strong decision making and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects/duties.   
  • Trustworthy with the ability to maintain highest level of integrity and trust. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products, specifically Outlook, Word and Excel

Where You Can Work   

This position requires working onsite five days per week at our corporate office in Purchase, NY.

Compensation & Rewards    

Compensation for this role is $21.00 - $25.00 per hour with the potential for discretionary incentive compensation based on both company and individual performance.
