Account Manager

Our client is seeking an experienced Benefits Account Manager to join their growing team. This is a client-facing, service-focused role responsible for managing and supporting a book of small to mid-sized employer group accounts. The ideal candidate is a licensed Life & Health Insurance professional with extensive knowledge of group medical, dental, vision, and ancillary benefits who can confidently manage client relationships from renewal through open enrollment.

Account Manager Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of employer group benefits clients, delivering exceptional day-to-day account management.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through responsive communication and proactive service.
  • Prepare and present annual renewal proposals, including benefit comparisons, plan recommendations, and renewal strategies.
  • Coordinate and facilitate open enrollment meetings and employee benefit education sessions, both virtually and onsite.
  • Partner with insurance carriers to obtain renewal information, resolve service issues, and ensure timely implementation of benefit changes.
  • Respond to client inquiries regarding eligibility, enrollments, plan changes, billing issues, and carrier services.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new and renewing benefit plans while ensuring accuracy and timely completion of all required documentation.
  • Stay current on carrier products, plan enhancements, regulatory changes, and industry trends to provide informed guidance to clients.
  • Collaborate with internal team members to ensure high-quality service and successful execution of client initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate client records and documentation while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.

Account Manager Requirements

  • Active Life & Health Insurance License.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience managing employer-sponsored group benefits accounts.
  • Strong working knowledge of medical, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefit plans.
  • Experience preparing and delivering renewal presentations to employer groups.
  • Experience coordinating and conducting virtual and in-person open enrollment meetings.
  • Thorough understanding of multiple insurance carriers and their group benefit products.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship-building skills.
