Account Executive (Sales) - Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and/or Medical Device Meetings & Events

Full-Time | Midwestern U.S. (Des Moines, Chicago, Minneapolis, Kansas City, Dallas, and Austin preferred)

POSITION OVERVIEW

ITA Group designs and delivers experiences that transform the way people connect with the brands they work for, work with, and buy from. We are seeking a senior-level Account Executive to drive the sale of strategic meetings and events solutions within the pharmaceutical, life sciences and/or medical device industries.

This role is ideal for a consultative enterprise-level seller who understands the complexity, scale, and compliance requirements of regulated meetings and events - including advisory boards, investigator meetings, sales meetings, congresses, global medical education programs, POAs sales trainings, and product launches.

INDUSTRY & SOLUTION FOCUS

This role supports pharmaceutical and life sciences organizations, partnering with stakeholders across Commercial, Medical Affairs, Clinical Operations, Marketing, Procurement, Compliance, and Legal. Successful candidates bring experience navigating highly regulated environments and demonstrate fluency in areas such as HCP and KOL engagement, Sunshine Act and PhRMA compliance, risk mitigation, reporting requirements, and enterprise-scale strategic meetings management.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify, develop, and close enterprise-level meetings and events opportunities within pharmaceutical, life sciences and/or medical device organizations
  • Lead complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles in regulated environments
  • Conduct executive-level discovery to uncover business objectives tied to education, engagement, and performance
  • Position ITA Group as a strategic partner delivering compliant, scalable, and high-impact solutions
  • Collaborate with internal event strategy, operations, compliance, and technology teams to develop tailored client solutions
  • Develop compelling proposals and business cases to support multi-program engagements
WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE
  • Consistent generation and conversion of enterprise Pharmaceutical, Life Sciences and/or Medical Device opportunities
  • Strong executive-level relationships across target industries
  • High win rates driven by insight-led, compliance-aware selling
  • Long-term client partnerships spanning multiple meetings, brands, or business units
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • 5+ years of consultative, enterprise sales experience
  • Proven success selling into pharmaceutical, life sciences, medical devices or other regulated industries
  • Experience selling meetings, events, or complex professional services preferred
  • Executive presence with the ability to navigate matrixed buying groups
  • Willingness to travel as needed
  • Strong “hunter” mindset with the ability to identify client business challenges and stakeholder motivations
  • Strong presentation skills with the ability to lead round table discussions and build business cases for $1M+ investments
  • Active market presence (e.g., attending and acting as an expert at conferences, leading breakouts, speaking engagements, panel discussions, industry associations, social selling)
