Description

Rosemount Tank Gauging is seeking a Direct Sales professional to grow the inventory tank gauging business across the Greater Houston Area while working from the Houston office. In this customer-facing role, you will expand and protect base business, pursue major project opportunities, promote the Rosemount Tank Gauging value proposition, and help accelerate continued growth of the Radar Level business with refineries, terminals, pipelines, and chemical plants.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Drive maximum order bookings across assigned territory and accounts by building a strong territory account load, prioritizing accounts based on Emerson potential, and maximizing direct selling time with customers.
  • Protect, grow, and diversify base business through annual account development plans focused on account penetration, new customer acquisition, competitively held accounts, and development of management sponsors for Rosemount products at customer locations.
  • Establish the sales coverage and customer engagement required to position Rosemount Tank Gauging as the preferred supplier, while identifying business changes, countering competitive threats, and maintaining existing account position.
  • Aggressively pursue and win major project business by leading multidivisional pursuits, developing sales action plans, applying effective techniques for application-intensive products, and keeping major project information current in the project database.
  • Promote the Rosemount image and total value by identifying leads for Emerson initiatives, introducing new products, and connecting Rosemount solutions to customer business drivers to create project opportunities.
  • Deliver high-impact customer education and engagement through technical seminars, Lunch and Learns, major customer product presentations, local trade shows, and professional society participation.
  • Coordinate continuously with Emerson Process Management personnel and other internal teams to align on opportunities, support customers, and deliver a consistent customer experience.
  • Demonstrate proven performance across applicable Rosemount Tank Gauging product lines while continuing to build and communicate application, product, and industry knowledge related to Rosemount solutions.
  • Develop technical and sales presentations for regional meetings, support the Regional Manager in developing sales personnel, and create sales strategies that can be implemented by the broader sales organization.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and meet travel expectations of approximately 10-15% per year, including sales conferences, industry meetings, and possible overseas visits to the factory in Sweden.

Who You Are:

You build trust with customers by gaining insight into their needs, connecting solutions to business outcomes, and maintaining strong working relationships. You bring a results-driven mindset, persist through obstacles and setbacks, and consistently focus on achieving territory and account objectives. You understand how businesses work, use knowledge of marketplace trends, competitive dynamics, customer strategies, and business drivers to guide action, and communicate persuasively to win support and negotiate effectively in challenging situations.

For This Role, You Will Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field, or equivalent proven history in the market.
  • Six (6) years of related sales and/or marketing industry experience.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to understand application-intensive products, customer processes, and process automation environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-motivate, build territory momentum, and grow the Radar Level business within assigned accounts.
  • Ability to develop account plans, pursue major projects, prepare customer-facing presentations, and coordinate effectively across Emerson organizations.
  • Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

  • Experience with tank gauging, radar level, measurement instrumentation, or related automation solutions.
  • Experience selling to refineries, terminals, pipelines, or chemical plants.
  • Field service, technical sales, or application engineering background with strong customer-facing capability.
  • Experience with competitive displacement, strategic account development, and major project pursuit.
  • Ability to conduct technical seminars, Lunch and Learns, trade show engagement, and executive or customer presentations.
