Position: Business Travel Sales Manager

JOB OVERVIEW: Manage accounts to achieve guest satisfaction and solicit past and new business to ensure all revenue goals are achieved or exceeded.

REPORTS TO: Director of Sales & Marketing

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Concentration in Business Travel Sales, to include Local and National Account development, Management of Consortia programs, ongoing market analysis and proactive sales efforts are a must.  Maximize revenue by selling all facets of the hotel, both orally and in written form to previous, current and potential clients. 

Handle account details so that all pertinent aspects of solicitation and closing are complete and documented. Coordinate various departments participation in servicing accounts.  Provide daily, weekly, and monthly progress updates.

Develop and conduct persuasive verbal sales presentations to prospective clients.

Travel to conduct outside calls, promote the hotel, and review competition.

Prepare information for, meet with and entertain clients as deemed appropriate by potential business from that account.

Represent hotels at trade shows. Set up exhibits involving bending, stooping, lifting, and reaching overhead.

Communicate both verbally and in writing to provide clear direction to staff regarding maintenance of accounts.

Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.

Perform any other job-related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player. Knowledge of a hotel structure and how all departments interact. Ability to effectively communicate with customers in a friendly and positive manner, in order to solicit business, meet client needs, and resolve complaints. Ability to move throughout the hotel to conduct site inspections.

For applicants who will be working in California, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $105,000 - 109,000 per year, based on a 45-hour work week. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include, but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, work location, etc. Crescent Hotels is a multi-state employer and the salary ranges indicated herein may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
