Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:
Working as a member of the Corporate Foundation Relations team and reporting to the Corporate Sponsorship & Partnerships Officer, the Corporate Sponsorship Associate supports the execution of corporate sponsorship strategies across hospital and Development events in support of Boston Medical Center Health System's (BMCHS) mission.
The Associate is responsible for managing day-to-day sponsorship engagement, supporting sponsor cultivation and stewardship, and contributing to revenue generation through event-based corporate support. This role manages a defined portfolio of corporate sponsors and prospects focused on sponsorship and in-kind support and assists in building a pipeline of corporate partners aligned with institutional priorities.
The Corporate Sponsorships Associate works closely with the Events team, Corporate Partnerships colleagues, and other Development staff to ensure high-quality sponsor fulfillment, accurate documentation, and thoughtful, consistent engagement of corporate partners.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES / DUTIES:
  • Support the design and execution of corporate sponsorship strategies across hospital and Development events, contributing to annual cash and in-kind sponsorship revenue goals.
  • Manage day-to-day relationships and renewals for a defined portfolio of corporate sponsors under the guidance of the Corporate Sponsorship & Partnerships Officer.
  • Assist in identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding corporate sponsors, with a focus on sponsorship and event-based engagement.
  • Conduct outreach with corporate prospects and sponsors through phone calls, virtual meetings, email correspondence, and in-person engagement, as appropriate.
  • Support the development and packaging of sponsorship opportunities in collaboration with the Events team and Corporate Partnerships colleagues.
  • Assist with sponsor renewals, benefit fulfillment, and stewardship activities to ensure a positive partner experience.
  • Help build and maintain a pipeline of new corporate prospects through research, outreach, and industry engagement in coordination with Prospect Research.
  • Prepare sponsorship materials, tracking tools, and recap reports that highlight sponsor engagement, benefits delivered, and future opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of sponsorship activity, agreements, and communications in Raiser's Edge NXT.
  • Partner with Development Operations and Finance to support the accurate booking and reconciliation of sponsorship revenue.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across Development to support integrated fundraising and engagement efforts.
  • Develop a working understanding of institutional policies related to corporate giving, sponsorships, and event engagement.
  • Participate in departmental planning, sponsor engagement activities, and other initiatives as assigned

JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
  • At least 2 years' experience in fundraising, corporate sponsorships, sales, business development, or a related role.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

EXPERIENCE:
  • Experience in health care, public health, social service, or research setting strongly preferred.
  • Experience in corporate partnerships, events, or nonprofit development is preferred.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
  • Strong organizational and follow-through skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Customer-service mindset with strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to support revenue-generating activities and work toward defined goals.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and reporting.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and take direction while developing independent judgment.
  • Interest in corporate partnerships and the intersection of philanthropy, events, and business.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems (Raiser's Edge NXT preferred) and standard Microsoft Office tools.

Compensation Range:
$30.05- $43.75
This range offers an estimate based on the minimum job qualifications. However, our approach to determining base pay is comprehensive, and a broad range of factors is considered when making an offer. This includes education, experience, skills, and certifications/licensures as they directly relate to position requirements; as well as business/organizational needs, internal equity, and market-competitiveness. In addition, BMCHS offers generous total compensation that includes, but is not limited to, benefits (medical, dental, vision, pharmacy), discretionary annual bonuses and merit increases, Flexible Spending Accounts, 403(b) savings matches, paid time off, career advancement opportunities, and resources to support employee and family well-being.
