Position Summary
The Business Development Associate serves as the first point of engagement for inbound interest from Hospitals, Clinics and Integrated Delivery Networks (IDNs). This role is responsible for qualifying, nurturing, and advancing prospective accounts through the sales pipeline until they are ready for direct engagement by the Key Account Manager (KAM) team. This individual acts as a critical liaison between field sales, marketing, and prospective customers, ensuring a seamless and informed handoff that accelerates the sales cycle.
Key Responsibilities
  • Respond promptly to all inbound inquiries from Hospitals, Clinics and IDNs via phone, email, digital channels, and marketing-generated leads.
  • Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with prospective accounts, educating them on product value propositions and clinical/financial outcomes.
  • Track all lead activity and engagement in CRM, ensuring accurate pipeline reporting and follow-up cadences.
  • Partner closely with Key Account Managers to understand territory priorities and ensure smooth, timely handoffs of sales-ready accounts.
  • Provide KAMs with thorough account summaries including stakeholder mapping, key concerns, and engagement history.
  • Participate in regular pipeline reviews with field sales leadership.
  • Work with the Marketing team to provide feedback on lead quality, common objections, and messaging effectiveness.
  • Engage and follow up with attendees from webinars, trade shows, and other events.
  • Monitor and report on lead conversion metrics, pipeline velocity, and engagement trends.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in inside sales, account management, or market development, preferably in medical devices, healthcare technology, or a related industry.
  • Familiarity with Payor and/or IDN market dynamics.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of value-based care, reimbursement models, or health system procurement processes preferred.
  • Experience collaborating cross-functionally with field sales and marketing teams
