Summary:

The Account Representative will work cooperatively with outside sales, estimators, customer service and order entry teams, fabricators as well as other team members in performing their responsibilities for the position. Overall responsibilities include maintaining superior relationships with new and existing customers, selling solutions to customer base, addressing customer and/or product concerns and providing inside sales leadership with diplomacy and dexterity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Build strong and robust relationships with customers
  • Account Management
  • Generate new and repeat sales by providing product and technical information in a timely manner
  • Review, evaluate, and complete Requests for Estimates
  • Process $0 Purchase Orders
  • Reviews production documents and understands scope of work in order to estimate
  • Ensure handoffs to appropriate team members on a timely and efficient basis
  • Ensure reporting and communications are frequent and bi-directional with both internal and external customers
  • Work closely with team members to provide an unparalleled customer-centric experience
  • Keep operations manager and team members informed of activity such as timely reporting of obstacles, successes and changes
  • Build trusting relationships with shop team members
  • Travel to customer facilities or jobsites as needed
  • Creation of RFQ as needed
  • Work through issues with team members on the floor
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of metal fabrication experience (Laser, Press Brakes, Machining, and Welding)
  • Ability to read and interpret detailed blueprints
  • Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word & Excel.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical design
  • Strong communication skills, verbal & written (ability to write letters, proposals, etc.)
  • Excellent customer relations skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Very strong pre-planning and organizational skills
  • Familiar with and capable of reading & interpreting fabrication drawings and specifications.
  • General knowledge of the fabrication industry
  • Prior estimating experience is desirable but not required
  • 2+ years Sales experience preferred but not required
