Job description

*This is a hybrid role with three weeks per month onsite (Mon – Thurs). The fourth week is fully remote.

We are seeking an Accessories Designer with strong product design expertise across soft and hard accessories, including jewelry, bags, cold weather accessories, belts, scarves, hats, gloves, and other lifestyle items. This role is responsible for creating seasonal accessories collections that align with department strategies and overall business objectives while delivering brand-right, commercially viable product for the Lands’ End customer.

The Accessories Designer will develop seasonal concepts, themes, and color stories, translating trend insights into compelling assortments. This role requires a strong understanding of materials, fabrication, construction, trims, print, pattern, and color, as well as the ability to balance design creativity with functionality and cost considerations. The Designer will collaborate closely with vendors, mills, and factories to develop unique materials, textures, and finishes that support the brand’s quality standards.

Key responsibilities include developing concept boards and presentations, conducting trend and market research, creating flat sketches and detailed specifications, and overseeing prototype development from initial concept through production. The Accessories Designer will partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Sourcing, and Quality to ensure timely execution, cost targets, and product integrity. This role also includes mentoring associate and assistant designers while building strong working relationships across the organization.

Skills & Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of materials, construction techniques, and trims across accessories categories
  • Understanding of color theory, print and pattern development, and how to apply these to seasonal accessories assortments
  • Ability to create flat sketches, technical drawings, and detailed design specifications
  • Experience translating trends into brand-right product for the Lands’ End customer
  • Familiarity with global vendors, factories, and suppliers within the accessories space
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage complex design projects
  • Proven capability to mentor and develop junior design talent

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Accessories Design, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
  • Advanced degree preferred but not required
  • 5–8 years of professional experience in accessories design, preferably within lifestyle or apparel brands

The pay range for this position is $76,000 - $103,000. An employee’s pay within the salary range will be based on numerous factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, experience, skills, geographical location, and business or organizational needs. This position may also be eligible for annual merit increase, bonus, and/or incentive compensation. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, health, dental, vision, and disability benefits.
