Our client, a large and highly respected organization, is seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Digital Accessibility to help advance its enterprise digital accessibility program.
In this role, you'll conduct accessibility audits and evaluations, document and communicate identified barriers, guide remediation efforts, develop accessibility standards and procedures, and help ensure digital content aligns with organizational policies and applicable accessibility requirements.
You'll also serve as an accessibility resource to faculty, staff, technology teams, content owners, and other stakeholders by providing consultation, training, and practical recommendations for creating accessible digital experiences.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct accessibility audits and evaluations of websites, applications, documents, and other digital assets
  • Identify accessibility barriers and provide actionable remediation recommendations
  • Guide development and content teams on designing, developing, and testing accessible digital experiences
  • Track identified accessibility issues and follow up with content owners on remediation progress
  • Evaluate accessibility against WCAG, Section 508, and applicable standards
  • Develop and maintain accessibility testing procedures, standards, and best practices
  • Create Accessibility Conformance Reports, QA/validation reports, and VPAT-related documentation
  • Review vendor VPATs and accessibility documentation during technology procurement and implementation
  • Develop accessible document templates and accessibility reporting standards
  • Create training curriculum and conduct accessibility workshops for internal stakeholders
  • Provide guidance on accessible instructional materials and digital media
  • Advise teams on accessibility requirements and remediation strategies
  • Stay current on emerging accessibility standards, technologies, and best practices
  • Collaborate across departments to promote inclusive digital experiences
Qualifications & Requirements
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or another technology-related field
  • 4+ years of experience working with accessible and assistive technologies
  • 2+ years of experience using automated accessibility testing tools
  • Ability to interpret, analyze, and prioritize automated accessibility testing results
  • Strong knowledge of WCAG and Section 508
  • Experience evaluating websites and web/mobile applications for accessibility
  • Experience with accessible digital documents
  • Knowledge of assistive technologies, software, applications, online services, and related accessibility solutions
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain accessibility requirements and remediation strategies to technical and nontechnical audiences
