To thrive as an Accessibility Product Manager, you need a solid understanding of product management principles, accessibility standards (such as WCAG), and experience in developing inclusive digital products. Familiarity with assistive technologies, user testing tools, and relevant certifications like Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (CPACC) is highly valuable. These skills are essential to ensure that products are usable by everyone, comply with legal requirements, and drive innovation through inclusive design.

How does an Accessibility Product Manager typically collaborate with designers and engineers to ensure accessible product development?

Accessibility Product Managers play a pivotal role in bridging the gap between design, engineering, and end-users with disabilities. They work closely with designers to ensure that accessibility requirements are integrated from the earliest stages of product development, often conducting design reviews and usability testing with assistive technologies. Collaboration with engineers is also essential, as they help translate accessibility guidelines into technical requirements and validate that features meet compliance standards. Regular cross-functional meetings and clear documentation are common practices to maintain alignment and ensure accessibility remains a priority throughout the product lifecycle.

What is the difference between Accessibility Product Manager vs Accessibility Analyst?
