The Job

Regional Teacher Coach

Job Description

Working under the Head of Teacher Community & Professional Learning, you will lead professional development, classroom coaching, and curriculum integration for your region, rapidly and strategically upskilling educators in best-practice pedagogy to drive transformative learning outcomes through the use of cutting-edge immersive technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Model exemplary lessons to showcase seamless technology integration, best practice pedagogy in mathematical discourse, and the connection between experiential learning and paper-pencil fluency
  • Facilitate in-classroom coaching sessions to upskill teacher confidence and practice, including side-by-side co-teaching and real-time feedback
  • Lead rigorous lesson study sessions to support deep knowledge-building of VR module design and lesson facilitation to lead to specific, meaningful learning outcomes
  • Lead curriculum integration conversations at the classroom, school, and district level to ensure most efficacious use of Prisms within a core curriculum
  • Contribute to the ongoing creation and refinement of supporting curriculum and professional development materials
  • Support and lead professional development sessions to onboard new-to Prisms teachers and provide additional development to experienced Prisms teachers
  • Continuously and deftly assess the coaching and professional development needs of your region at the classroom, school, and district level and execute next steps accordingly
  • Create and foster community among Prisms teachers and leaders in your region

Requirements

  • Commitment to transforming and reimagining STEM education
  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or a Master's degree in STEM education preferred
  • 2-5 years of Grades 6-12 teaching experience preferred
  • 2-3 years of demonstrated success developing curriculum (including course structural planning) preferred
  • Knowledge of multiple learning frameworks with a focus on problem-based learning and student-driven mathematical discourse
  • Deep knowledge of national math standards and their relationship to state standards preferred
  • A clear and energetic communicator who can deliver thoughtful, meaningful, engaging presentations to diverse groups of stakeholders
  • Highly motivated and skilled at both working individually and collaborating with a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Travel Requirements

Regional Teacher Coaches should expect to be in schools and classrooms every day, with in-state travel required. Some out of state travel may also be required.
