Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Access Control Technician with at least 5+ years of hands-on experience in low-voltage security and access control systems for an ongoing project in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The ideal candidate will be experienced in installation, troubleshooting, and termination of access control systems in commercial environments.

Responsibilities:
  • Install, terminate, and service access control systems including card readers, keypads, biometric devices, door strikes, and maglocks
  • Pull, route, and terminate low-voltage cabling for access control systems
  • Use meter and tone tools to trace, identify, and verify cabling runs
  • Dress and organize access control panels to industry standards (clean terminations, labeled wiring, proper cable management)
  • Mount and secure field devices in accordance with specifications and site requirements
  • Perform continuity and functionality testing of installed systems
  • Work from prints, riser diagrams, and installation drawings
  • Coordinate with lead technicians and site supervisors to complete installations efficiently
  • Ensure all work complies with safety standards and project requirements
Requirements:
  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in access control or low-voltage security installation
  • Proficiency with meter and tone equipment
  • Hands-on experience installing card readers, access control panels, door strikes, and maglocks
  • Ability to dress and organize access control panels neatly and professionally
  • Familiarity with basic low-voltage wiring standards and best practices
  • Ability to read and interpret basic installation drawings or schematics
  • Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or as part of a team
