The Technical Lead isresponsible for the overalldesign, implementation and qualityof the code the team producesacross one or more projects. The Technical Lead partners with theIT leadership, architecture, and development staff to establish vision, strategy and road maps that align with business strategies and organizational priorities. The Technical Lead must collaborate with peers and leadership to leverage knowledge and solutions across the organization.

Organizational Relationships:TheTechnical Leadof Application Developmentis aposition within a development groupfocused on building our core sales and CRM platform. TheTechnicalLead is accountablefor daily status on tech design, development, and resource management.

TheTechnicalLeadworks with:

Delivery leads to staff projects with associates, contractors, and/or third party teams,

Project managers on a plan and estimates,

Architecture and delivery leads on solution blueprints,

QA and delivery leads onfunctional testing,integration testing, performance testingand to triage defects

Service introduction on hand-off to application operations team

Job Responsibilities:

TheTechnical LeadofApplication Developmentis aposition within a development groupfocused onleading the delivery of best in class systems to support AutoNation's business lines, across all channels. These includecustomerand associate facing applicationsbuilt on AWS using Microservices Architecture and other AWS componentsthatintegrate with existing on-prem AutoNation systems and databases..

Qualifications:

8+years experiencein java software development demonstratingincreasing levels of responsibility

Experience leadinga team of 3 or more software developers

Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent experience

Experience producing solution designs for large-scale, highly available, mission-critical systems.

Proficient in designing, creating and consuming Web Services (REST, JSON, OAuth), multi-tieror microserviceapplications in Java and large scale database applications

Strong experience in SQL and data modeling

Demonstrate sound architecture skills and broad experience designing applications.

Ability to communicate complex technical design concepts and translate into non-technical business solutions.

Able to communicate well with all levels in the organization, and must be comfortable as a primary contact to internal and external customers.

Excellent oral and written communicationskills

Experience in Agile, Waterfall and other software development methodologies

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with developing within a Cloud environment with good knowledge of cloud infrastructure like AWS is a plus.
• Experience with ecommerce, retail, automotive, and financing is a plus

The anticipated base salary for this role is 130,000.00 - 155,000.00 annually. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for participation in the company's annual bonus program, the terms and payout of which are determined at eh company's discretion and subject to change.
