ACCEL Schools is hiring Daily Substitute Teachers to support Barber Preparatory Academy and Inkster Preparatory Academy in Michigan. Our schools are dedicated to providing a superior education and fostering a love of learning in every student.

ACCEL Schools are public charter schools serving PK-8 students in Highland Park and Inkster, MI. Our schools offer a well-rounded education that includes community service learning and competitive sports-and are known for their warm, welcoming staff and strong sense of community.

About the Opportunity:

Responsibilities include:

  • Support classroom instruction and help maintain a safe, welcoming learning environment
  • Supervise students throughout the school day (classroom, hallways, playground, cafeteria)
  • Follow provided lesson plans and school procedures
  • Utilize school-approved curricula that reflect the diverse educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students
  • Build positive relationships with students and school staff
  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues
  • Perform other duties as assigned

About You:

  • Eligible for or currently hold a State of Michigan Substitute Teaching License
  • Minimum of 60 completed college credit hours (education or related field preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to pass federal and state criminal background checks
  • Experience working with students or in an urban environment is a plus-but not required
