Description:HERE WE GROW AGAIN! The Academy Charter School's State-of-the-Art Middle School Coming to Wyandanch, NY!!! Remaining steadfast to the Vision and Mission of the Academy Charter School Network, the Academy Charter School's Wyandanch Middle School will offer an exceptional interdisciplinary curriculum in a technology-rich environment that challenges students to explore connections across subjects and use experiential learning to bridge the gaps between theory and practice.


The Academyโ€™s focus on character development and community service cultivates a student body poised to be active, engaged and responsible members of the community.


The Academy employs a committed staff whose teaching and high academic and behavioral expectations will promote the excellence known so the communityโ€™s children can achieve. We are currently seeking an Instructional Coach to work side-by-side with teachers to successfully improve instruction, implement lessons, and accelerate intervention.


Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Models and coaches instructional methods in a variety of settings (whole group and small group) and provide follow-up support.
  • Provides daily targeted intervention to students struggling with the assigned curriculum.
  • Collaborates with and coaches teachers on the use of assessment data to plan instruction; analyze school numeracy data and plan for future curriculum instructional needs.
  • Works with administrators and teachers to facilitate lesson studies, lead professional learning communities, and identify targeted professional learning needs.
  • Assists school administrators and teachers in implementing, strengthening, supporting, and organizing curriculum instruction and intervention.
  • Serve as a content specialist to assist in the development and implementation of campus instructional plans that align with district goals and curriculum.

Pay Transparency: The salary range for this role is $80,000 - $100,000. Base pay offered may vary within the posted range based on several factors, including but not limited to education, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

Requirements:

Education/Certification:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in education or related field required/Masterโ€™s degree preferred
  • Valid NYS teaching certification required


Experience:

  • At least five years of successful teaching experience
  • Experience in development, preparation, and presentation of professional development preferred
