Elementary Behavior Specialist

Full-Time Position, Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh

Hillel Academy of Pittsburgh, an Orthodox Jewish Day School serving students from early childhood through 12th grade, seeks a dedicated and compassionate Elementary Behavior Specialist to join our dynamic team. This position focuses on fostering positive student behavior, supporting classroom management, and helping students develop the social and emotional skills needed for success.

Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing preventative behavior strategies that promote a positive school culture.

  • Collaborating with teachers to create and monitor individualized behavior plans and charts.

  • Coordinating planned breaks and regulation routines to help students remain focused and engaged.

  • Providing consistent follow-through on consequences and reinforcement systems.

  • Supporting teachers in data collection and analysis to track progress and adjust interventions.

  • Modeling and teaching social-emotional and problem-solving skills to students.

  • Partnering with the elementary principal to ensure a cohesive approach to behavioral interventions.

  • Communicating effectively with parents, teachers, and administrators to support student success.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Psychology, Special Education, Counseling, or a related field (Master’s preferred).

  • Experience working with elementary-aged children in a school setting.
