Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree and five (5) years of experience appropriate to the area of assignment/field; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or training from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Plans and coordinates day-to-day fiscal, administrative, and operational activities of a defined, program or a set of funded activities. Programs are usually focused to a single purpose, may be educational, or service oriented, and may exist as a subset of an integrated funded program activity.
Job Description:
This position is only open to current EdPlus employees or an ASU employee approved to work on an EdPlus project.
We're seeking a dynamic and forward-thinking EdPlus Academic Program Specialist. In this role, you won't just lead-you'll inspire. You'll help shape strategies, drive innovation, and ensure students stay on track to achieve their academic goals. You'll play a critical part in enhancing student experiences and outcomes by championing meaningful initiatives that drive enrollment growth, student persistence, and service excellence.
This position involves engaging students outside of standard business hours during times that are most conducive to effective phone communication. The primary objective is to identify and help resolve barriers that may prevent students from enrolling in courses or that may contribute to course withdrawals. The individual will utilize designated reports to identify and prioritize student outreach by segment, based on criteria established by leadership.
Additionally, this role requires maintaining consistent phone availability to ensure students can contact and receive prompt, high-quality support. Participation, scheduling, and hours for this work will vary based on operational needs, student demand, and institutional priorities, and may include evenings and weekends.
Program Specialist assignments in EdPlus vary and can include student support efforts that are essential for proactive and personalized student assistance, work on specialized grant-funded projects, or any other project that requires the talents of EdPlus employees outside the scope of their regular positions. These flexible assignments allow EdPlus to effectively support timely initiatives, maintain high service standards, and uphold its mission to deliver high-quality, student-centered support. EdPlus maintains an ongoing need for individuals in this role, with communication timing, participation and workload varying based on program needs.
We have a continual need for people in this position; note that timing of communication and need will vary.
Essential Duties:
Depending upon the assignment, duties and responsibilities may include:
  • Managing elevated caseloads.
  • Conducting outreach during high-volume time periods.
  • Addressing time-sensitive concerns that fall outside normal job responsibilities.
  • Instructional design assistance for specialized projects or initiatives.
  • Proactively contacting students, primarily via phone, to assist with completing outstanding requirements that may impact enrollment or retention.
  • Leveraging designated reports to identify and prioritize outreach to students with the highest need, as defined by leadership.
  • Maintaining availability to handle inbound student calls in a timely and professional manner.
  • Addressing and helping resolve complex student inquiries through the designated supplemental pay Slack channel.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Desired Qualifications:
  • Must be a current EdPlus employee or an ASU employee approved to work on an EdPlus project.
  • Approval must be documented through an EdPlus HR Jira ticket.
  • Evidence of a bachelor's degree or higher in a related field.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer programs, including Microsoft Office Suite, PeopleSoft, and Salesforce.
  • Evidence of a proven track record of achieving results in a customer-centric environment while taking pride in finding innovative ways to increase efficiencies.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate change and pivot quickly to create a successful working atmosphere supporting others.
  • Evidence of excellent communication skills with the ability to handle complex issues, resolve conflicts, and de-escalate when appropriate.
  • Experience establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with peers, faculty, students, administration, and other interested parties.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in an environment subject to quickly changing priorities.

Working Environment:
You will work either in the beautiful, cutting-edge, and collaborative EdPlus workspace at SkySong, the ASU Scottsdale Innovation Center, or remotely from a private workstation as determined by the project.
