PREMIUM PCU / STEPDOWN RN CONTRACT โ€“ 4x12 NIGHTS โ€“ PROGRESSIVE CARE SPECIALTY

We are seeking a highly skilled Progressive Care Unit (PCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for an immediate 12-week travel assignment. Operating within a high-acuity 27-bed Cardiac and Medical PCU configured as a true ICU Stepdown environment, this position is tailored for elite nursing professionals who excel in high-stress intermediate care settings. Enjoy a stable, high-yield 48-hour night shift rotation and an exceptional tax-free stipend structure at a premier acute care facility in Lafayette, IN.

Please note: This unit operates strictly as a high-acuity true ICU stepdown. While a minimum of 18 months of PCU experience is required, candidates with a strong previous ICU background are highly preferred. First-time travel nurses are proudly accepted, provided they meet all baseline clinical markers and required certifications.

๐Ÿ“… SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 4x12-Hours (18:00 PM - 06:30 AM). No block scheduling is accommodated.
  • Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours guaranteed weekly (Package structured around 40 Regular Hours).
  • Weekend & Pairing Rules: Standard weekend shift coverage is strictly required. Please note that this unit does not accept travel pairs.
  • EMR System: Cerner charting system preferred.
  • Unit Scope & Setup: Specialized 27-bed Progressive Care Unit managing an average patient nursing matrix maintained strictly at a 1:4 patient ratio across days, nights, and weekends.
  • Clinical Environment: Comprehensive medical-cardiac acuity. Daily case mixtures involve post-cardiac angiograms, pre/post-cardiac cath lines, post-watchman procedures, and post-ablation tracking.
  • Floating Mandate: Flexibility required. Clinicians will float within their clinical scope to alternative units to meet health system operational needs.

๐Ÿ“‹ REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Hardstop Experience Rules: Minimum 1.5 years (18 months) of consecutive clinical experience strictly in an acute care PCU/Stepdown setting [REQUIRED].
  • Licensure Required: Active, unrestricted Indiana (IN) state nursing licensure or an active multistate Compact license must be fully in-hand at the exact time of profile submission [HARDSTOP]. Pending licenses will not be accepted for screening. Local candidates are not accepted.
  • Time-Off Restrictions: Standard holiday tracking applies. Travelers must work a minimum of 2 out of 3 major holiday cycles to satisfy scheduling compliance.
  • Certifications Required: Verifiable active AHA ACLS and AHA BLS are strictly required [REQUIRED]. NIHSS certification is highly preferred.
  • Scrubs Mandate: Travel clinicians must provide their own daily attire adhering strictly to facility color codes: Red tops paired with Black bottoms.
