Job description

Lead New Construction Start-Up Technician โ€“ Leadership Potential

Absolute Heat & Air is hiring a Lead New Construction Start-Up & Controls Foreman to take charge of high-impact projects across Northwest Arkansas. Based in Cave Springs, AR, weโ€™re looking for a driven, hands-on leader ready to complete commissioning on new systems, direct junior installers, and own system performance on residential and commercial HVAC projects.
This full-time, year-round opportunity offers competitive pay, full benefits, and all travel expenses covered. If youโ€™re a seasoned startup tech with supermarket experience, this is your next big move.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot single and Three-phase installations.
  • Check heating & cooling equipment is installed correctly and verify cooling and heating operations (pitch on drain lines, coils etc.)
  • Diagnose & correct malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of breakdowns for repairs.
  • Build strong relationships with our vendor partners to ensure we have the most current information available.
  • Complete HVAC Start Up Documents
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Lead start-up, commissioning, and troubleshooting of commercial and residential systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with general contractors, subcontractors, commercial customers, and the internal team
  • Ability to work well under pressure and while facing deadlines and other adversities.
  • Knowledge of energy efficient and make up air units
  • Ability to network and build relationships within our communities.
  • Excellent critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Responsible for handling HVAC warranty calls
  • Experience with commercial application of VRFโ€™s,ย  rooftop units, mini splits, VAVโ€™s, and most HVAC equipment
  • Ability to read blueprints and drawings
  • Knows how to read diagrams and understands how to wire and install accessory controls on HVAC units
  • Understands how to evaluate systems and charge units by superheat, subcooling
  • Knows how to work and operate voltmeter and meters in general
  • Knows the basic refrigeration cycles
  • Has basic hand tools to do the job
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and strong organizational skills
  • EPA Certification
