Job description


TITLE:                      Maintenance (8:30am - 5:00pm) - Operations 
JOB STATUS:          FLSA Overtime Eligible
REPORTS TO:         Chief Operating Officer
DEPARTMENT:        Business Operations
POSITION SUMMARY:  To help maintain the district's physical plant in a state of operating excellence that it presents no problems or interruptions to the educational process.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:







  • A high school diploma or training and experience that are considered equivalent.
  • A documented knowledge of basic carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and HVAC systems and other basic building systems.
  • A low pressure boiler license preferred.
  • Good human relations with the ability to communicate in a courteous manner.
  • Ability to work with little supervision.
  • A neat appearance.
  • Basic computer skills including email, ability to be trained on various softwares to document inventory, work order entry, internet search, etc.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education may find appropriate and acceptable.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES;

  • As directed by the Chief Operating Officer or his designee, performs, but not limited to:   needed carpentry, electrical, masonry, plumbing and general repairs/maintenance.
  • Performs HVAC repairs and maintenance as capabilities allow under the guidance of the HVAC Mechanic.  These include preventative maintenance duties.
  • Assists with snow removal.  These seasonal duties will require the individual to be on call as required.
  • Assists the HVAC Supervisor in the continual examination of district owned facilities for the purpose of corrective and/or preventative maintenance.
  • Complies with all Federal, state and local laws and regulations for the storage, use and disposal of trash, rubbish, waste and hazardous material [OSHA].
  • Ensures the safety of students.
  • Establishes and maintains cooperative professional relationships.
  • Remains free of any alcohol or nonprescription controlled substance and abuse of any prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout employment in the district.
  • Exhibits professional behavior, emotional stability, and sound judgment.
  • Serves as a role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, and intelligent human beings.


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:  261 Days (251 Days; 10 paid holidays); 8 hours per day excluding lunch, 8:30am - 5:00pm.  Salary as provided by negotiated agreement.  Work year to be established by the Board. 
SALARY RANGE:  $25.43 - $29.44/hr.
