Under the supervision of Mgr, Leaves and Accommodations, the Sr Administrator of Leave of Absence and Disability will be responsible for administering and coordinating the Leave of Absence (LOA), and disability processes across multiple states company-wide, while ensuring compliance with federal, state and local laws. This includes but is not limited to ensuring compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave (FMLA) Act, and similar state and local laws, military leave and parental leave policies. This individual will interact and communicate with employees at all levels in the organization regarding eligibility and available benefits to employees based upon understanding of state and federal regulations.
Responsibilities
  • Advises and serves as subject matter expert for team members, managers, and People Relations on all processes and procedures required for leave of absence management, reasonable accommodation process, and other request including but not limited to Family Medical Leave, Disabilities and, state-specific related leaves.
  • Provides accurate information and guidance to employees regarding leave eligibility, as well as employee responsibilities prior to going on leave, during their leave, and once they return from their leave.
  • Researches best practices and develops proactive approaches to identify challenges within LOA and disability processes.
  • Reviews and provides feedback in regard to LOA and ADA policies to ensure legal compliance.
  • Ensures employee requests for medical accommodations are reviewed, investigated and resolved timely in accordance with ADAAA/FMLA guidelines.
  • Acts as liaison between team member, employer, and third-party administrator and ensures that proper paperwork is completed by team member and the third-party administrator. Provides regular status reports on active cases to all stakeholders.
  • Leads the tracking of disability cases are in accordance with legal requirements and regional guidelines for all states PDS is present in.
  • Researches and collects data for analysis of leave management.
  • Provide accurate information and guidance to employees regarding leave eligibility, as well as employee responsibilities prior to going on leave, during their leave, and once they return from their leave.
  • Acts as a mentor to other LOA team members providing guidance on high complex cases and insight on process improvement.
  • Provide guidance to People Relations Advisors for complex cases.
  • Identifies and implements opportunities for improvement to existing processes and procedures to minimize risk to the organization by ensuring local practices are in legal compliance.
  • Trains and coaches management staff on best practices pertaining to employees on any type of LOA and disability.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience, and 2-4 years of related leave administration experience. In lieu of degree, 6+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Strong knowledge of leave laws in multiple states to include, but not limited to, FMLA and ADA.
  • 3+ years previous experience in LOA and ADA.

Preferred
  • Experience in Workday or a similar system.
  • Strong knowledge of leave laws in all 50 states.
  • 5+ years of related leave administration experience.
  • PHR, Leave Administration Certification.

  • Ability to create presentations and use presentation skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Ability to handle and maintain extreme confidentially with employee records, compensation information, etc.
  • Problem solving skills to gather & analyze information in order to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner.
  • Ability to multi-task effectively without compromising the quality of the work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Detail oriented, organized, process focused, problem solver, proactive, ambitious, customer service focused.
  • Ability to draw conclusions and make independent decisions with limited information.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries from customers, staff, regulatory agencies, vendors, and other members of the business community.

Compensation Information
$75,000.00-$93,000.00 / Annually
