ABOUT THE ROLE:
This role provides analytical and execution support across Asset-Backed Securities (ABS) transactions, assisting with structuring and cash flow modeling across multiple asset classes, including transportation (aircraft, container, rail), auto, consumer assets, equipment, music/TV/film royalties, and digital infrastructure. The position supports both public market issuances and private placement transactions and works closely with senior structurers, originators, and distribution teams across the ABS platform. This role supports the development of bond structures and cash flow models for pitches and marketing materials, assists in reviewing transaction documentation, and contributes to interactions with rating agencies and accounting firms. The role also helps respond to investor questions related to deal structure and cash flow analytics in coordination with senior team members. Responsibilities include supporting bond analysis, assisting with modeling rating agency stresses, performing breakeven analysis, and conducting detailed cash flow analytics. This role serves as a core analytical resource supporting the ABS structuring, origination, and distribution process. The position also supports the ABF team's lending activities by maintaining and running loan facility models and assisting with transaction stress testing in accordance with internal policies and rating agency methodologies.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:
The responsibilities for this role are below; you may support projects of varying complexity based on skill and organizational priorities.
  • Develop, maintain, and update cash flow models for ABS transactions using Intex, DealVector, and Excel/VBA, incorporating waterfall mechanics, triggers, and amortization features.
  • Design and optimize transaction structure, including tranche sizing, credit enhancement levels, and payment priorities, informed by rating agency criteria, investor considerations, and internal discussions.
  • Assist in the preparation of pitch books, transaction summaries and marketing materials by integrating cash flow analytics for both internal and external presentations.
  • Collaborate with various constituents of ABS transactions including the internal risk team, relationship managers, distribution desk, issuers, legal counsel, rating agencies, and investors.
  • Participate in roadshows and investor meetings as needed, provide technical explanations of cash flow mechanics, structural features, and risk mitigants.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • 4+ years of experience in structured finance, preferably at an investment bank, accounting or advisory firm, or rating agency.
  • Degree in Math, Computer Science, Engineering, Finance or other quantitative discipline.
  • Track record of structuring ABS warehouse and securitization transaction modeling.
  • Proficiency in Excel (complex formula), Intex, Bloomberg. Basic programming skills (e.g. SQL, Python, VBA) a plus.
  • Strong understanding of cash flow waterfall mechanics, credit enhancement features, rating agency stress scenarios.
  • Prior experience with transportation (aircraft, container, and rail) and consumer assets (subprime auto) preferred along with exposure to digital infrastructure assets.
  • Experience with collateral analytics, including generating stratification tables, replines, and other analytical outputs from data tapes.
  • Familiarity with rating agency methodologies, including stress-case modeling and sensitivity analysis.
  • Understanding of macro market, rates, and hedging.
  • Knowledge of financing facilities (warehouse, term loan, portfolio).
  • FINRA Series 7, 63, and 79 licenses preferred; candidates without active licenses must be willing to obtain them within a reasonable timeframe.
