Job Duties
- Perform all functions of deburring such as finger sanding, belt-sanding, retapping, lapping, filing, scraping, sanding with sandpaper and Scotch-Brite and counter-sinking with hand machine drills;
- Ability to use drill, press and Bridgeport machines;
- Cleaning parts with various substances;
- Load and unload parts from tumbler and sandblaster;
- Pick up machined parts from machining groups and deliver finished parts to inspectors;
- Sort, count and tag parts before delivering to inspectors;
- Perform visual inspection to meet customer's specifications;
- Ensure overall cleanliness of area;
- Ensure that proper maintenance is performed on all equipment for this area;
- Follow and maintain all department policies and procedures;
- Enter data as required into company computer system;
- Adhere to Employee's responsibilities outlined in Cygnus' Health & Safety Policy.
Required Experience/Credentials:
- High school or trade school graduate with good mechanical capabilities;
- Ability to use calipers or measuring devices to meet department requirements a plus;
- Must be able to follow written and verbal instructions and have a cooperative, team spirit;
- Frequent lifting or moving of materials up to 50 lbs.;
- May be required to work up to 10 overtime hours per week and may be temporarily assigned to other areas of the shop;
- Ability to work in a manufacturing shop environment (including hot, cold and/or noisy areas);
- Frequent hand to finger, handle, feel objects & tools, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking and hearing;
- Physically submit to periodic drug tests (employment is contingent upon favorable results)
