In business since 1987, KMM has positioned themselves as a leading manufacturer of military and commercial aerospace electrical components. KMM is a company committed to excelling in realms of our operations as well as commitment to community, country, and family.

JOB SUMMARY

Manage and lead a team of employees and provide effective guidance. Responsible for supervising, leading, and motivating team members on a daily basis. Communicate company goals, safety practices, and deadlines to team. Provides help to leadership, including hiring and training, and keeps leadership updated on team performance. Communicates concerns and policies among leaders and team members. Act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

The expectations of the Team Lead are as follows:

  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Set clear team goals
  • Delegate tasks and set deadlines
  • Oversee day-to-day operations
  • Monitor team performance and report on metrics
  • Motivate team members to continually improve KMM by coaching/mentoring team members
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching/training as needed to team members
  • Listen to team members' feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
  • Encourage creativity and risk-taking
  • Suggest and organize team building activities
  • Assist with LEAN manufacturing by becoming a leader and assisting with the following:
  • Teach, Coach, Mentor
  • Serve as facilitator for Lean initiatives in their area​
  • Help identify process improvement ideas and identify metrics​
  • Work with KMM Lean Liaisons to compile metrics​
  • Keep their Liaisons & Practitioners informed on projects ​
  • Coordinate Lean training for their area


The Team Lead must also meet the following requirements

  • Knowledge of how to acquire and report performance metrics
  • Balance Quality and Production to maintain customer satisfaction
  • Find solutions to problems using creativity and reasoning while drawing upon past experience along with current available information and resources
  • Collect data requirements, manage multiple assignments, tasks, prioritize, and adapt to changing conditions and work assignments
  • Relate to team members, inspire others to participate, and mitigate conflict with team members
  • Demonstrate the ability to work with a multi-culture workforce through sensitivity, awareness, and respect of other team members and their culture, and maintain confidentiality of any employees issue(s)
  • Work with others in a professional manner while working to achieve common goals while upholding KMM policies and procedures
  • Demonstrate formal and successful experience coaching, teaching, and facilitating others to improve

These requirements may be temporarily adjusted or modified at the time of the opening and will be based on the current labor availability and staffing needs. In these instances, it is expected the employee will be able to meet all requirements within 180 days of accepting the position.

EQUIPMENT AND MACHINERY USED

This position requires the daily use of a computer and computer related software; proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Products including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as other KMM applicable software as needed.

The Team Lead will also be required to be able to operate all hand tools and safety equipment used in the area they are leading.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete job functions
  • Ability to move freely throughout the factory
  • Ability to reach, reach and bend, lift, stand and sit for long periods of time
