JOB SUMMARY

The Host greets and seats guests for food and beverage service, while maintaining the seating flow and service of the dining room

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greets guests on arrival and regards on departure in a warm and inviting manner
  • Maintains full knowledge of restaurant lay-out and seats patrons based off of specific layout
  • Works with communication devices such as telephones, two-way radio, guest paging system, and both computerized and manual table management system
  • Interacts with guests to maintain great guest relations and provide opportunities for loyalty
  • Ensures and maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the host podium and ensures the dining room floor is presentable at all times
  • Communicates to management in a timely fashion any guest compliments or complaints
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and thorough with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work under stress in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic knowledge of menu items and service as well as restaurant operations and culinary terminology
  • Basic knowledge of dining room standards and procedures
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Customer service or food & beverage experience preferred
  • Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
  • The employee is required to stand for the duration of the shift.
  • The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, push, pull, lift, reach, twist, and bend while enduring prolonged periods of standing and walking.
  • The employee may be required to exert up to 20 pounds of force.
  • The employee may be required to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
