Job Title: Banquet Server (Part-Time)

The Banquet Server plays an important role in bringing this mission to life by providing polished, attentive service during weddings, meetings, and special events. Position Summary:

The Banquet Server is responsible for providing exceptional food and beverage service for on-site events in a professional, courteous, and efficient manner. This part-time role supports The Abbey Inn & Spa's refined events and catering program by ensuring that each event is executed with precision, grace, and warm hospitality.

Banquet Servers work collaboratively with the Food & Beverage and Events teams to deliver a seamless guest experience, from set-up through service and breakdown. Team members are expected to embody Meyer Jabara Hotels' J Quality Behaviors: Joy, Jump, Join, by demonstrating enthusiasm for hospitality, proactive service, and teamwork in every guest and colleague interaction.

Banquet Service Duties
  • Set up banquet rooms according to event orders, including tables, linens, place settings, buffet stations, and dรฉcor as required
  • Provide attentive and professional food and beverage service for catered events, meetings, weddings, and special functions
  • Serve plated meals, buffets, beverages, and passed items with accuracy, consistency, and attention to presentation
  • Anticipate guest needs and respond promptly and courteously to requests during events
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of banquet spaces before, during, and after events
  • Assist with event breakdown, including clearing tables, resetting rooms, and proper storage of equipment
  • Collaborate closely with banquet captains, supervisors, and culinary teams to ensure smooth event execution
  • Adhere to all food safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service standards
  • Support overall Food & Beverage operations as needed to ensure exceptional service delivery
Experience & Education:
  • Previous experience in banquet service, catering, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment preferred
  • Strong guest service skills with a friendly, professional, and team-oriented attitude
  • Ability to follow event orders and service standards with attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts
  • Commitment to professionalism, reliability, and hospitality excellence
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during events
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including trays, tables, and event equipment
  • Ability to bend, reach, twist, and move efficiently during set-up and service
  • Capable of performing repetitive motions associated with serving, clearing, and resetting
