Job description

This position reports to:
Production Manager
Your role and responsibilities:
The person in this position is responsible running assembly equipment and learning the mold set-up process. Continued success will progress to processing and mold start-up. Will also function in an assembler capacity as needed.
The work model for the role is in the Portland, TN facility.
This role is contributing to the success of the ABB Installation Products, Portland, TN facility
  • Major Responsibilities/Activities:
  • Successful operation of assembly equipment.
  • Utilizing SMED techniques:
    • Safely transport molds to or from Press or Tool & Die to or from storage as required.
    • Safely mount/remove molds in/from Press in standard time including make or/disconnect water, air, KO, electrical connections and verify correct operation.
    • Set up work area as required with Grinders, Thermolators, Sprue picker, conveyors and assembly area equipment
    • Verify the correct material is in the hopper and the grinder is ready
  • Receive work assignments, verbal and/or written instructions from Supervisor or Group Leader
  • Stock work area with component parts and packing material and load them into Presses and storage areas
  • Conduct minor and preventative machine maintenance as required
  • Maintain proper housekeeping and observe all safety rules and practices
  • Communicate status to correct dept/personnel

Qualifications for the role
Basic Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum 1 year experience in manufacturing/molding
  • Working knowledge of production flow and processes
  • Must have adequate interpersonal & communication skills (oral & written)
