Job Description
A well-established manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Robotics Programmer to provide hands-on programming support in a live production environment. This role will build, modify, debug, and troubleshoot industrial robot programs used in automated waterjet cutting applications. The Robotics Programmer will work closely with engineering, production, maintenance, and quality teams to restore equipment, stabilize processes, and maintain print tolerances. This is a focused robotic programming position
and is not a controls engineering role.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Program, debug, and troubleshoot Yaskawa Motoman robotic systems, including GP25 robots with YRC1000 pendant controllers
  • Build and refine multi-axis robot programs to support production launches, downtime recovery, and process stabilization
  • Adjust robotic programs using CMM and quality data to maintain print tolerances
  • Collaborate with manufacturing engineers and operations teams to diagnose issues and implement sustainable solutions
  • Document program changes and follow all safety, quality, and equipment standards
 
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Direct hands-on experience programming industrial robots in a production environment
  • Ability to independently build, modify, and troubleshoot robot programs with minimal supervision
  • Multi-axis robotic programming experience and strong practical troubleshooting skills
  • Mechanical aptitude, strong three-dimensional spatial awareness, and knowledge of industrial automation safety
  • Ability to work onsite and support variable, short-notice, on-call, and weekend schedules
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach, and work around automated equipment and machinery
 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with Yaskawa Motoman GP25 robots and YRC1000 pendant controllers
  • Experience programming Motoman robots for welding, material handling, spraying, or similar applications
  • Robotic waterjet cutting experience
  • Familiarity with Fanuc, Motoman, or ABB robotic platforms
  • Limited PLC troubleshooting knowledge
