Location: San Antonio, TX | Duration: 6 Months (Potential Extension)
About the Role
Join a leading technology initiative as an ABAP Backend Developer in San Antonio, Texas. In this on-site, contract position, you will be responsible for developing complex, custom ABAP solutions within an S/4HANA environment. You will collaborate with technical and functional teams, leveraging your expertise to deliver high-impact solutions while working independently and proactively. This is a high-visibility opportunity to work on a long-term project with potential for contract extension through 2026.
Responsibilities
- Independently design, develop, and deliver custom ABAP solutions within S/4HANA
- Analyze requirements and translate high-level functional design documents into technical solutions
- Utilize Object-Oriented ABAP, CDS views, RFC, BAPI, and BADI for robust custom development
- Extend, integrate, and enhance new solutions with existing custom applications
- Troubleshoot and resolve system defects identified during testing
- Follow established development standards and manage deployments via change management processes
- Deeply understand solution architecture and database structures
- Collaborate across technical and functional domains, demonstrating flexibility and initiative
Required Skills and Experience
- Hands-on experience with S/4HANA and Object-Oriented ABAP (OOABAP)
