Job description

This is a Remote Role
The Role:
The Education Specialist supports learners in AAPC courses primarily via email and occasionally via phone. The specialist acts as a subject matter expert (SME) in assisting students through their distance learning course, Practicode and other learning platforms.
Special Note: This is primarily a student support/customer service position with flexibility to work remotely from a home office.
Responsibilities:
  • Support AAPC learners in Practicode, self-paced, and other online courses
    • Instruct and encourage learners by accurately answering questions via email and phone
    • Provide excellent customer service at all times; be respectful, courteous, positive, and professional
    • Manage multiple inboxes, responding to all emails within 48 hours
  • Collaborate with a team of internal and external experts
    • Positively contribute to AAPC's well-established team of coding educators in providing industry-best training and membership experience
    • Support the content and curriculum team with content updates and reviews as applicable.
Experience You'll Need:
  • High School Diploma (Bachelors preferred)
  • 3 years of medical coding experience
  • Teaching/training experience preferred
  • Excellent written and verbal communication necessary
  • Excellent Organizational skills; able to prioritize workload and complete tasks effectively
  • CPC Certification required
  • Customer service/support experience
  • Computer literacy (MS Office applications, in particular)
