Why did you first decide to become a Tutor? At Sylvan, we remember why. You will be trained in Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in our small group setting.

As a Tutor at Sylvan, your primary responsibilities are:

Just Teaching.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย No Lesson Plans.ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย ย  No Preparation.

As a part-time Sylvan Tutor, you will be trained on the Sylvan curriculum and given the tools to teach in a small group setting. You will provide personalized instruction in Reading, Writing, and Math to students of all levels.

Locations:

We are currently hiring at our Lima and Wapakonetaย Locations

Tutor Requirements:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree preferred; Teaching Credential recommendedย -or- currently pursuing a degree in Education.
  • You must enjoy teaching, working, and inspiring students. (We want you to be happy here!)
  • Being punctual is extremely important. You must be local and have reliable transportation.

What you should know:

  • You will use pre-planned lessons. They are straightforward, easy to manage, and fun to teach.
  • Teach students in a small group setting.
  • We require a minimum of two days a week with Friday and Saturday rotations during the school year.
  • We are open for instruction weekday afternoons (M-R 4-8pm and F 4-6pm), Saturday mornings (school year only).
