Job description

️ Build Your Career at New Heights – Join Eckard Roofing as a Journeyman Roofer / Lead Installer! ️

Position Title: Journeyman Roofer / Lead Installer

Company Name: Eckard Roofing

Location: Truckee, CA (Ideal for Truckee/North Lake Tahoe locals or Reno/Sparks commuters!)

Job Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday

Pay Range: $27.00 – $31.00 per hour + Weekly Pay + Performance Bonuses

The Opportunity

Stop putting miles on your personal truck and join the premier roofer of the High Sierra!

Eckard Roofing is looking for a highly skilled Journeyman Roofer to join our dedicated team in Truckee. We know that roofing in the mountains is different—it requires tougher gear, higher safety standards, and a crew that looks out for each other.

If you are an experienced roofer living in the Truckee/Tahoe area or commuting from Reno/Sparks, we want to talk to you. We provide the vehicle, the top-tier safety gear, and a weekly paycheck you can always count on. If you are looking to advance your career and eventually move from Journeyman to Foreman, we will give you the tools and mentorship to get there.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Installation & Repair: Execute high-quality residential and commercial roofing systems (Asphalt, Metal, and Single-Ply) tailored for high-altitude conditions.
  • Technical Craftsmanship: Expertly handle complex flashings and intricate details that are critical to keeping mountain homes completely watertight.
  • Leadership & Mentorship: Step up as a leader on the roof by mentoring apprentices and providing essential support to the job site Foreman.
  • Safety & Site Management: Maintain a clean, highly organized, and strictly OSHA-compliant job site at all times.

What You Need to Succeed (Qualifications)
  • Experience: 4+ years of true Journeyman-level roofing experience. You must know the tools, the materials, and the advanced techniques for both steep and low-slope roofs.
  • Mountain Ready: Highly comfortable working at heights and adaptable to varying High Sierra weather conditions (sun, wind, and cold).
  • Reliability: A strong work ethic—you show up on time, ready to work, and lead by example.
  • Licensure: A valid Driver’s License is strictly required so you can operate the provided company vehicle.

Compensation & Premium Benefits

We believe in investing in the people who keep us on top. We offer a robust package to support you and your family:

  • Top-Tier Pay: $27.00 – $31.00 per hour, paid on a reliable weekly pay cycle (get paid every Friday!).
  • Equipped for Success: Company Vehicle provided! Save your gas and stop putting wear and tear on your personal truck (a massive financial perk for commuters).
  • Financial Growth: Performance Bonuses, Year-End Bonuses, and a Retirement savings program.
  • Work-Life Balance: Standard Monday–Friday schedule with generous Paid Time Off (PTO), including Holidays, Vacation, and Sick Days.
  • Safety First: We don't cut corners on steep slopes. We provide the absolute best safety equipment and training in the industry.
  • Career Advancement: Clear pathways and support to help you move into a Foreman role.
