Job description

The Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physiatrist to join our Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R) Department. At CAVHS, we are committed to providing exceptional care to our nation's heroes. Our PM&R Department plays a vital role in helping veterans achieve the best possible quality of life through comprehensive rehabilitation services.

Health System Highlights:   As a level 1A health system, our 551 bed Central Arkansas VA is among the nations most complex.  Equipped with a full range of medical, surgical, and ancillary support you will provide the highest levels of interdisciplinary care.  Every member of our team works towards one unified goal, to provide the best patient and family care experience possible to all those who have BRAVELY served in our Armed Forces.  Join our 7 current Physiatrists, our 5 Midlevel providers, and our clinical care team of over 8 support staff and together lead our PM&R program to new and greater heights.   

Community Highlights:  Known as the Natural State, Arkansas leads the nations for 2 years in a row in inbound moves.  People love Arkansas!  Little Rock is the capital city located in Central Arkansas and boasts the best of urban, suburban, and rural life.  Arkansans enjoy their weekends exploring the citys attractions, festivals, and events.  We also adventure through the hundreds of amazing outdoor activities throughout the area.  With a National Airport reachable in a 15-minute drive, Little Rock is also a great place to live while also exploring the nation. 

Work Load:

  • M-F 8:00am 4:30pm, alternative schedules can be discussed.
  • Primarily outpatient, and in the radiology procedure suite.  
  • Clinic days average 10-15 patients.
  • Surgical center days average 10-15 cases.
  • Opportunities to work with and mentor residents and fellows.

Comp & Benefits:

  • Potential starting base salary range:  $330,000 - $360,000
  • + 50 Total paid days off per year

Requirements

  • At least 1 state active medical license; no revoked, suspended, probation state licensures
  • A degree of Doctor of Medicine or equivalent allopathic or osteopathic degree from an accredited institution; or evidence of an ECFMG certificate.
  • Completion of Residency Training.
  • Board Eligible in Physical Medicine and Rehab, or Anesthesiology.
  • Selective Service Registration is for males born after 12/31/1959.
  • Proficient in written and spoken English.
  • Non-ACGME residencies: must provide ECFMG, and proof of 5 years residency, fellowship, and/or relevant practice experience in the USA in the field you are applying. 

Preferences

  • U.S. Citizenship; in accordance with VA Policy, non-citizens may be considered if no qualified US citizens are selected.
  • Board Certified in Physical Medicine and Rehab, Pain, or Anesthesia
  • Completion of Pain Medicine Fellowship
  • Resident and Fellows Teaching experience
