Introduction

\r\n\r\n\r\nThe Maryland Department of General Services (DGS) supports State and local government agencies, as well as local non-profit organizations and the citizens of Maryland, by providing facilities management, real estate and surplus property services, as well as security and law enforcement for State buildings. DGS is also responsible for a full spectrum of facilities engineering, design and construction services, almost $1 billion in annual contract administration, and overseeing the State procurement process. \r\nAnnapolis State Office Complex\r\n29 St. John's Street\r\nAnnapolis, MD 21401\r\n\r\n\r\n

Main Purpose of Job

The main purpose of this position is to properly clean all lobbies,\r\noffices, restrooms, mailrooms, print shops, hallways, stairways, elevators in each building of the Annapolis State Office Complex assigned to state\r\nemployees.\r\n

POSITION DUTIES

Duties\r\ninclude, but are not limited to:\r\n\r\n\r\n-\r\nDusting all offices, lobbies, and hallways.\r\n-\r\nRemoving trash and vacuuming floor areas.\r\n-\r\nStripping and waxing tiled floors as needed.\r\n-\r\nBuffing spray tile at scheduled intervals.\r\n-\r\nWiping down outer areas and cleaning mirrors.\r\n-\r\nRefilling supplies and thoroughly scouring sinks.\r\n-\r\nSweeping and wet-mopping floors with disinfectants.\r\n- Sweeping and wet-mopping all floor areas and stairwells.\r\n- Shampooing carpets throughout the building twice a year.\r\n- Scrubbing toilets and urinal bowls with disinfectants.\r\n-\r\nCleaning and sanitizing restrooms daily, ensuring they are stocked with soap\r\nand paper products.\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS AND CERTIFICATIONS

Employees appointed to positions in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator's license valid in the State of Maryland.\r\n

Employees in this classification may be subject to call-in 24 hours a day and, therefore, may be required to provide the employing agency with a telephone number where they can be reached.\r\n
