ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty with accuracy and maintain a high level of productivity. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.   1. Exhibit and develop maximum customer relations through friendly and courteous behavior.
  2. Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
  3. At all times remember that our success will be dependent upon our ability to work together.
  4. Comply with all company policies, programs and directives as specified in the Code of Conduct.
  5. Maintains cake decorating skills and talents. Seeks updated information regarding the required decorating skills and new trends.
  6. Possesses knowledge of basic bakery terms and processes such as fermentation, bench time, proofing and effects of temperature variations on bakery items.
  7. Assists in making orders for bakery ingredients and supplies and maintains inventory levels in accordance with department and store policy.
  8. Capable of filling, rotating, arranging, and merchandising displays and display cases
  9. Possesses knowledge of pricing, dating, and wrapping or bagging of all bakery products.
  10. Possesses knowledge of bakery items, descriptions, and ingredients so as to better serve our guests and answer any questions that might arise.
  11. Responsible for the complete processing of larger tier cake orders, including taking orders, producing the cakes and ensuring the final accounting of accessories for which a deposit is to be refunded.
  12. Maintains an adequate inventory of all novelties and supplies necessary for cake decoration. Assist in the receiving and storing of bakery products.
  13. Capable of producing other bakery items as directed by the Bakery Merchant
