DEPARTMENT: Bakery


REPORTS TO: Bakery Manager


OBJECTIVE: As Bakery Finisher you will be held responsible for finishing a majority of our bakery times. As directed by the Bakery Manager may also be responsible for producing some of these items.


BASIC SCOPE: Your department is a viable and exciting extension of the total store. It will be you and those finishing touches that you so skillfully prepare that will be a large contributor to the excitement of the bakery department. To this we say 'Thanks'!


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential Job Duties:
1. Develop maximum customer relations through a friendly and courteous behavior.
2. Promote a high level of morale within department and store, utilizing friendly but professional methods of honest and open communication.
3. Assist in any way possible with counter service, making our customers visit an enjoyable one.
4. Turn on bakery equipment, icing conditioner, ovens, proof box etc. At start of shift.
5. Responsible for an accurate inventory of all salable products.
6. Assist fryer cut yeast raised will then assist in filling, icing, traying and pricing of these items.
7. Responsible for all cleaning and filling of creme hoppers and icing conditioners.
8. Knowledge of bakery functions such as mixing, scaling, proofing, baking and frying.
9. Knowledgeable of basic bakery terms and processes such as fermentation, bench time, proofing, and effects of temperature variations on bakery times.
10. Assist in making orders for bakery ingredients and supplies and maintain inventory levels in accordance with department and store policy.
14. Capable of filling, rotating, arranging and merchandising displays and display cases.
15. Possess knowledge of pricing, dating, wrapping or bagging of all bakery products in accordance with department manager.
16. Continually practice self-development so that additional duties and responsibilities can be assumed.
17. Comply with all company safety and accident prevention policies reporting all accidents to the Bakery Manager.
18. Attend store and company meetings upon request.

Housekeeping/Maintenance:
1. Clean and sanitize areas of bakery and equipment as directed by Bakery Manager.
2. Maintain all department equipment in good working order and recommend repair of equipment when deemed necessary.
