Full Time Occupational Therapist (OT) - NHC HealthCare Bluffton

NHC HealthCare Bluffton is a post-acute and long term care facility in need of an Occupational Therapist to complete this multidisciplinary team. The OTR for this position would be responsible for evaluating and treating a diverse patient population and supervising the COTA.

Qualifications:

  • Must be flexible, a team player, reliable, and have a positive attitude
  • Must be a graduate of AOTA accredited BS, MS, or OTD level course in Occupational Therapy
  • Must have South Carolina Occupational Therapist (OT) license
  • Prior SNF experience a plus
  • We offer the NHC Geriatric Certification Pathways Program for Occupational Therapists is designed to help OTs achieve board certification in gerontology, supported by NHC and TFGE. The program covers costs for registration, exams, study materials, a three-day study group (in-person or online), and up to 28 hours of mentoring from an experienced OT. Your mentor will help you complete a proficiency checklist verifying expert-level practice. Along with other assignments you will need to complete an NHC sponsored geriatric exercise prescription course. The program requires a two-year commitment starting at the exam date or repay $4,000 for program costs if the commitment isn't fulfilled. Participants are expected to take the Board Certification in Gerontology exam by June 30, 2027. Certified OTs are also expected to create CEU or approved training content for other therapists seeking to become clinical experts. While challenging, regular study and dedication will prepare you for success as a recognized expert in geriatric occupational therapy.
