This role is responsible for ensuring product conformance through precise measurement, inspection programming, and data‑driven analysis. The ideal candidate brings strong GD&T expertise, practical shop‑floor experience, and the ability to translate inspection data into actionable quality improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform high‑precision dimensional inspections using FARO Arm to validate parts against CAD models and engineering drawings.
  • Develop, execute, and maintain inspection programs for First Article Inspection (FAI), in‑process verification, and final inspection.
  • Must be able to create programs for new parts to support NPD activities.
  • Ability to integrate measurements into workflows.
  • Generate and analyze inspection outputs including deviation reports, color maps, and point cloud comparisons.
  • Interpret GD&T requirements to establish datums, inspection strategies, and acceptance criteria.
  • Proficient with precision measuring equipment including calipers, micrometers, height gauges, bore gauges, profilometers, WFT and DFT gauges.
  • Document and report inspection results, including any non‑conformities, in accordance with company's IMS (Integrated Management System).
  • Identify and document non‑conformances; support root‑cause analysis and corrective actions with engineering and production teams.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and prepare reports (including FAIR/AS9102 when applicable).
  • Ensure FARO equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and compliant with certification requirements.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and quality system compliance (ISO 9001 / AS9100 as applicable).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends in dimensional variation and process capability.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification in metrology, CMM, or FARO operation preferred.
  • Minimum 1–3 years of hands‑on experience operating FARO Arm or Laser Tracker in a manufacturing environment.
  • 3–5 years of overall quality inspection experience in fabrication, machining, or similar industries.
  • Valid and recent certifications are a plus.
Technical Skills
  • Strong proficiency with FARO hardware and inspection software (PolyWorks, FARO CAM2, Verisurf, or equivalent).
  • Solid understanding of GD&T with ability to build inspection plans from drawings and CAD models.
  • Experience with inspection reporting, deviation analysis, and dimensional validation workflows.
  • Proficient in conventional inspection tools (calipers, micrometers, height gauges, etc.).
  • Familiarity with quality systems (ISO 9001, AS9100 preferred).
  • Working knowledge of SPC and data analysis tools is a plus.
Soft Skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Problem‑solving mindset with ability to support root‑cause analysis.
  • Effective communication across quality, engineering, and production teams.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in sheet metal fabrication or welded assemblies.
  • Exposure to quality management systems.
  • Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI) or pilot builds.
  • Lean / Six Sigma exposure (preferred but not required).
Key Success Metrics
  • Accuracy and repeatability of inspection results.
  • Reduction in dimensional non‑conformances.
  • Timely completion of FAIs and inspection reports.
  • Effectiveness in supporting root‑cause and corrective actions.
  • Equipment uptime and calibration compliance.

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and sick leave.
