Job description

Summary: Provide direct supervision to shipper(s), receiver(s), material handlers and driver(s).


Essential Duties and Responsibilitiesinclude the following:

  • Assure on-time shipments by monitoring orders, assigning internal resources, coordinating with other departments and working with transportation resources outside of the
  • Assure accuracy of material movement transactions including receipts, shipments and inter/intraplant transfers. Identify and implement improvements that improve the accuracy of
  • Monitor efficiency of material handling activities and identify and implement
  • Reconcile freight bills with actual shipments and/or
  • Route interplant trucking;
  • Assist shipper and receiver in scheduling receipts and
  • Ensure cleanliness and orderliness of
  • Ensure safe operation of warehouse including leading fork truck safety
  • Train new employees; provide performance feedback and deliver performance
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education/Experience:

Two-year college degree required.


Supervisory Responsibilities:

Supervise 4-6 employees in the materials department. Is responsible for overall direction, coordination and evaluation of the unit. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies. Responsibilities include training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
