Job description

Description

 This on-site, contract position provides a unique opportunity to deliver critical care in a supportive medical practice environment.

In this role, you will be responsible for administering anesthesia and monitoring patients throughout surgical procedures. Your expertise will directly influence patient safety and comfort, making a significant impact on their surgical experience. We focus on high-quality care, and your contributions will help maintain our standards of excellence in patient outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Administer anesthesia and monitor patients during surgical procedures
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and assessments
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the surgical process
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to provide seamless care
  • Manage post-anesthesia care and monitor patients' recovery
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
  • Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology practices
  • Provide guidance and education to nursing staff as needed
Requirements
  • MD (Medical Doctor) or DO (Osteopathic Doctor) degree
  • Valid medical license to practice in the state of New Mexico
  • Experience in anesthesiology or completion of a residency in the field
  • Strong understanding of anesthesia techniques and patient management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Commitment to patient safety and quality of care
  • Team player with a collaborative mindset

Schedule: 40 hours per week, no weekends

Call: 1-2 nights per week

Daily Volume: ~3 cases

Patient Population: All ages and degrees of disability, including trauma

Cases: Bread and butter OB/GYN, pediatric dental, ENT, and orthopedics

Duties: General anesthesia, regional anesthesia, and epidurals

No supervision required

Must be board-certified
