Job description

Responsibilities
Peraton is seeking an experienced Data Center Database Engineer to join our national intelligence program that delivers engineering, application development, deployment, operations, upgrades and sustainment of products and services to achieve our client's global missions.
The candidate must have demonstrated database engineering experience. The successful candidate will design and maintain databases, manage storage capacity, troubleshoot and optimize database functionality and performance for our clients' systems.
Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, build, analyze, evaluate, and install database management systems to include database modeling design relational database architecture, metadata and repository creation and configuration management.
  • Utilize data mapping, data mining, and data transformational analysis tools to design and develop database.
  • Determine data storage and optimum storage requirements.
  • Prepare system requirements, source analysis and process analyses, and design throughout the database implementation.
  • Create complex functions, scripts, stored procedures and triggers to support application development.
  • Investigate and resolve database performance and capacity issues.
  • Develop, implement and maintain engineering documentation such as processes, procedures, test cases, test results, issue resolutions, performance analysis, and user guidelines/ instructions.
  • Develop, integrate, and migrate to new databases to include schemas, and stored procedures.

**Position is Contingent on Contract Award**
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
  • Active Top Secret/ Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance with ability to obtain a Poly clearances.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant experience with a Bachelor's degree (Master's degree and 6 years of relevant experience or PhD with 3 years relevant experience).
  • 4 years experience may be used in Lieu of Degree.
  • Strong knowledge in Oracle database development with ETL and data migration to develop data conversion scripts.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL/PLSQL and database concepts.
  • Strong knowledge of all phases of software development lifecycle and processes.
  • Experience with software unit testing.
  • Experience in creating and maintaining engineering documentation.
  • Strong communication, writing, presentation, and organization skills.
  • Strong software trouble-shooting skills.
  • Must work well in a team environment, collaborating with cross-functional teams
  • Self-starter with the ability to independently resolve issues and deliver results

Desired Qualifications:
  • Active TS/SCI with Poly clearances.
  • Knowledge in Java/JDK
  • Able to apply engineering techniques and analytical methods to make recommendations for improvements
  • Ability to work effectively in a challenging, fast paced, collaborative team environment.

SECURITY CLEARANCE:
This Position requires an Active TS/SCI and the ability to obtain a Poly, US Citizenship is required to hold this clearance.

Target Salary Range
$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual's experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
