Your Job
Molex is seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team in Lincoln, NE. As a Product Design Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of product design engineers that will drive innovation by developing advanced mechanical and electrical connectivity solutions for the automotive industry.
Our Team
Join our dynamic Transportation Solutions division, where you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams and global design centers to deliver industry-leading products. You'll report to a Senior Engineering Manager and play a key role in shaping the future of connectivity systems.
What You Will Do
  • Lead and deliver multiple engineering and product design projects by defining scope, building plans, and managing schedule, budget, and resources to meet committed milestones.
  • Apply structured problem-solving (e.g., root cause analysis, data-driven decision making) to resolve technical challenges, improve product performance, and eliminate waste.
  • Establish and continuously improve engineering standards, design practices, and quality processes to increase reliability, manufacturability, and speed to market.
  • Identify and mitigate technical and business risks while ensuring compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and company requirements.
  • Analyze team capacity, workflows, and space utilization to improve throughput, reduce bottlenecks, and optimize overall engineering productivity.
  • Coach and develop engineers through regular feedback, technical guidance, and career development planning to build a high-performing, contribution-motivated team.
  • Enable effective cross-functional collaboration by aligning with manufacturing, quality, and business stakeholders to ensure successful product launches and lifecycle support.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities, implementing solutions, and measuring results against defined business outcomes (e.g., cycle time, cost, quality).

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline (e.g., Industrial, Manufacturing, Engineering Technology).
  • 5+ years of experience in product design or engineering development.
  • Experience providing technical mentoring to engineers
  • Experience with design standards, quality assurance, and process improvement methodologies
  • Proven ability to manage multiple engineering projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation

What Will Put You Ahead
  • 10+ years of product design experience.
  • 3+ years of formal or informal leadership experience overseeing teams and projects.
  • Experience in automotive product design, preferably with electrical connector systems.
  • Knowledge of materials (resins, metals) and manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping, plating, and assembly.
  • Experience driving strategic initiatives or implementing engineering or operational improvements that deliver measurable business results.
  • Experience with risk assessment and regulatory compliance in product design or manufacturing environments.
