Job description

The Chef Tournant is responsible for supervising and guiding all bake shop employees and assisting in the completion of all orders. The Chef Tournant is accountable for the entire shop in the Executive Chef's and Chef De Cuisine absence.

With 2,500 beautifully designed guest rooms and suites showcasing some of the best views in town, Planet Hollywood encompasses more than 100,000 square-feet of gaming, several lounges, various restaurants including Gordon Ramsay BurGR.
  • Work requires a minimum of five years restaurant experience (must include exposure to all facets of the field, i.e., steakhouses and Italian cuisines).            
  • Work requires a minimum of 2 years' supervisory experience.
  • Work requires the ability to work from a standing position for extended periods of time.
  • Work requires a neat appearance with good personal hygiene.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time. 

  • Must be able to lift, pull, or push 25 lbs.

  • Must be able to twist, bend, or reach with no significant boundaries.

  • This position may be exposed to a smoke-filled environment.

  • Ensure that all product preparation is done in accordance with the set procedures and meets quality standards.

  • Assist the Executive Chef/CDC to ensure the restaurant meets hotel and state health standards for food preparation at all times.

  • Reviews of all orders submitted to the restaurant and inform the staff of requested products and time frames.

  • Completes inventory and recommend products to be ordered.

  • Provides the Executive Chef/ CDC with the information needed to adequately stock bake shop supplies.

  • Corrects improperly prepared items.

  • Reviews and approves daily payroll sheet in the executive pastry chef's absence.

  • Spot checks preparation procedures for quality and accuracy.

  • Prepares special orders for VIP customers in the absence of the executive pastry chef.
