Position Summary:

Rhetoric teachers are responsible for instructing students from 5th grade through 12th grade with requisite content

knowledge using classical pedagogy in their specific disciplines.


The study of logic is a cornerstone of classical education and one of the three trivium arts. It is a necessary component needed for debate and discussion that is part of Logic and Rhetoric level classes. 9th grade Logic includes the study of formal deductive and inductive reasoning as well as the analysis of informal fallacies. Students will learn to both write strong arguments and evaluate the arguments of others.

CDA Mission Statement:

The mission of Coram Deo Academy is to train ethical servant-leaders and wise thinkers who will shape culture for the glory of God.


Spiritual Requirements:

Coram Deo Academy hires individuals that profess the historic Christian faith. The Nicene Creed describes the minimum understanding of and subscription to Christian belief required of employees of the Academy. Preparation:

  • Read assigned coursework in preparation for each lesson

Assessment:

  • Evaluate and grade class work and assignments
  • Post assignments and grades according to school policies and practices
  • Observe and manage student behavior and performance


Administrative:

  • Communicate regularly with administration and parents, responding in a timely manner
  • Establish a collaborative relationship with CDA parents using the University-Model TM approach
  • Record and maintain accurate student attendance
  • Actively participate in faculty meetings and district meetings
  • Complete CDA's Teacher Certification Program per policy and pursue additional continuing education requirements
  • Perform additional administrative/other duties as needed
