Job description

Performs cleaning and housekeeping projects following all department and hospital policies regarding hand-washing, personal protective equipment, and other infection control practices. Removes all regular and medical waste. 

RESPONSIBILITIES 
Removes all regular and medical waste. 
Cleans and disinfects all bathrooms and fixtures according to departmental guidelines. 
Cleans and disinfects all patient rooms on a daily basis per departmental guidelines. 
Performs all cleaning functions as scheduled (high and low dusting, disinfecting of all surfaces, window cleaning, dry and wet mopping.) 
Maintains all floor surfaces (dry and wet mopping, vacuuming, carpet shampooing or extraction, stripping, scrubbing, refinishing, burnishing.) 
Completes all housekeeping projects as assigned (stairwells, elevators, doors...) 
Attends monthly department meetings. 
Performs other duties consistent with purpose of job as directed.

PREFERRED 

High School Diploma or equivalent. 
2 years of housekeeping experience preferred in education, healthcare, and/or business and industry.
