POSITION: 6th Grade Math Teacher
LOCATION: Woodbury Middle School

GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
A Woodbury Middle School math teacher works to implement the comprehensive 6th grade mathematics curriculum across their classes. Woodbury Middle School teachers are leaders in their fields and specialize in meeting students' needs in and across a variety of State and National Standards. Woodbury Middle School teachers work with their instructional leader to continually develop research-based lessons that meet the needs of all students. A commitment to researching and implementing effective and dynamic strategies for tier one instruction to include small group instruction is required. Woodbury Middle School teachers strive for excellence and challenge students with a rigorous approach while co-planning with departments across the school.
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to successfully:
  • Provide instruction in alignment with the Region 14 Teacher Job Description
  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive mathematics curriculum aligned with Illustrative Mathematics
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to support and meet diverse student needs
  • Communicate effectively with families and collaborate with school and community professionals in the best interests of students
  • Engage in data-driven decision-making and reflect on its impact on teaching and learning
  • Foster critical thinking and creative problem-solving through inquiry-based instruction
  • Collaborate with colleagues on grade-level and subject-area teams
  • Seek, reflect on, and apply feedback from instructional leaders, colleagues, and administrators
  • Maintain consistent and meaningful communication with parents, guardians, and families
  • Analyze student data to inform instruction and implement a variety of instructional strategies to meet learner needs
  • Partner with support staff and interventionists to develop, monitor, and evaluate progress toward measurable goals
  • Maintain an accurate and timely PowerSchool gradebook aligned to curriculum expectations and Vision of a Learner attributes
  • Engage in continuous professional learning to remain current in instructional practices and content knowledge
  • Participate in district-provided professional learning and apply new learning to instructional practice
  • Perform additional duties as assigned within the scope of certification and employment
  • Contribute to a positive school climate and culture during and beyond the school day
